Okuma to build new headquarters factory in Oguchi, Aichi Prefecture, Japan

Okuma will build a new factory called Dream Site 2 (DS2) to shorten lead times and pursue high added value and high-efficiency production, company said in a statement.

The first step is the start of construction for the new factory's west half (Materials Receiving Center, Machine Shop). According to company, the completed DS2 with 13,000 m2 floor space will achieve high utilization with an advanced production system using automated, laborsaving operation and IoT for start-to-finish production of small lathes and grinders. New factory will start operations in April 2017.
